The appts. measures the temp. difference between the inner and outer surfaces of the skin around the jaw and is used for the determination of various types of skin treatment. A probe (6) is connected to a signal processor connected to a display. The probe (6) is formed by a double sensor which has the shape of a pair of pliers each branch of which is fitted with a thermo-sensitive electronic component (Q1,Q2). Each thermo-sensitive component is connected in series with a resistor to the generator and one at least of these resistors is adjustable. The thermocouple outputs are connected to a processor which includes an operational amplifier. Each input of the amplifier receives the output from a respective part of the thermocouple through their associated circuit components.
