PURPOSE:To preserve the contents of a main storage device and to maintain the continuous performance of a computer system, by shunting the information of the main storage device to an auxiliary storage device in the normal operation mode and with every prescribed time interval in order to prepare for the restart of the computer system. CONSTITUTION:The information written into common reference/write data parts 3-a... divided according to the process attribute of a main storage device 1 is periodically shunted with replacement to the common reference information shunting areas 6-a... corresponding to an auxiliary storage device 2 according to a shunting process 7 in the normal operation mode of a computer system and with every prescribed time interval. Then only the necessary part of the information shunted and preserved in the areas 6-a... is read out to the parts 3-a... when the computer system has the restart after the contents of the device 1 has the breakdown with the discontinuation of the working of the computer system. In such way, the contents of the device 1 is preserved to ensure the continuous performance of the computer system even when the computer system is restarted after the discontinuation. |
