Continuous tracking device for solar collector panels - uses single motor operating at set speed to provide azimuth tracking and linkage to tilt collector

The tracking device for solar collector panels provides simultaneous elevation and azimuth control. An azimuth positioning motor is provided with a support for the collector which rotates round a vertical axis when driven by the transmission from the motor. A link attached to the lower part of the collector and to another linkage fixed to the support base causes the elevation of the collector to alter as it rotates. The speed of the motor is preset so that the rotation of the collector corresponds to the transit time of the sun, and the tilting linkage is adjusted to provide tracking for different solar elevation.
