PURPOSE:To determine the most suitable relative position automatically by a method wherein not less than two projections which are meeting across each other with a specified angle are provided to the neighborhood of a light emission window of LED and an optical fiber whose tip is facing the light emission window and whose circumference touches those projections is provided. CONSTITUTION:The positioning of X- and Y-direction of an optical fiber 13 can be determined accurately and quickly by making the fiber 13 touches the inside of an L-shape projection 12. Concerning to Z-direction, the gap between the tip of the fiber 13 and the surface of LED chip 11 is determined to keep the required value. A fiber fixing part 15 is fixed after the fiber 13 is made touch the projection 12 by adjusting the position to X- and Y-direction against a stem 14. With this constitution, the relative position between the chip 11 and the fiber 13 can be determined automatically and accurately. |
