PURPOSE:To improve the fuel consumption of an engine by effectively recovering the kinetic energy of a vehicle as an electric energy at the decelerating time, thereby reducing the load of the engine. CONSTITUTION:The sleeve 22 of a variable speed ratio transmission 10 is in a free state at the accelerating and the normally running times, and strong pressing force added with tensions of springs 20, 21 is applied to one disc 12b of a driven side pulley. At this time, a rotating force is transmitted from the output shaft 9 of an engine to a main shaft 6 of a generator in the state that the speed ratio of a drive side pulley 11 to a driven side pulley 12 is relatively small. A slip occurs between a rotating disc 37 and a brake disc 40 due to the inertia of a flywheel 31 at the starting time of deceleration, and the rotating speed of the shaft 6 is decelerated. On the other hand, the transmission of a clutch 28 is not disconnected, and the shaft 6 and a rotor shaft 25 are decelerated at the same speed. After starting the deceleration, kinetic energy is stored in a flywheel 31, and when the rotating speed of the flywheel 31 is increased, the transmission of the clutch 28 is disconnected, and the shaft 25 is freely attenuated at its rotation. |
