PURPOSE:To enhance the liquid-leakage resistance of a sealed battery by making the outer cirfcumference wall of a sealing plate, which is in contact with a sealing gasket, to be a true circle. CONSTITUTION:After a generation element is installed within a battery case, the battery case is sealed with a sealing plate 6, with a sealing gasket 7 having an L-form section interposed between the battery case and the sealing plate 6, thereby constituting a sealed battery. The periphery of the plate 6 is provided with rising parts 6b and 6c, which are continuous with an expanding part 6a and form a U shape, and a vertical part 6d and the like of the plate 6 are made in contact with a horizontal part 7a, a rising part 7b and a groove 7d of the gasket 7. Here, the roundness of the vertical part 6d of the peripheral outer wall of the plate 6 touching the gasket 7 is increased into a true circle. In addition, it is preferred that the variation of the above roundness is below 10mum. |
