The invention relates to a heating element for gas room heaters for connection to an outside wall or for connection to a chimney. The aim of the invention is to eliminate the disadvantages attaching in particular to the heating elements with multiple connection possibilities and to improve the manufacturing prerequisites for the production of heating elements in different embodiments and output levels with stable functional parameters and positively to influence the hygienic environmental conditions in the operation of outside wall gas room heaters. The object of the invention is to design a heating element in the form of a modular system in such a manner that, by using basic and additional components, the different functions, such as connection to outside wall or chimney with single or multiple connection possibilities and different output levels, are developed and thus the manufacture of large production runs with a high degree of mechanisation is made possible. Associated with the division known per se of the heating element into a basic heating element and a secondary heating element is, as the essential feature of the invention, the varying arrangement of combustion-air and waste-gas shafts in association with separately lying guide pipes for combustion air and waste gas for outside wall connection or flow shafts with the possibility of connection of waste gas pipes for chimney connection. <IMAGE>
