Instead of using individual acceleration pickups for operating items of equipment such as the fuel pump, the central locking device and the flashing hazard warning signal system, the acceleration pickup for an air bag triggers the emergency switches for these items of equipment as well. This triggering is preferably carried out by means of the control device for the air bag, at the same time as the latter is triggered.
