The invention relates to a bicycle valve and is intended, in comparison to the previously known designs, to increase the reliability of the mechanical connection to the rim and the ability to retain pressure and, in addition, to increase the ease of assembly. For this purpose, the outer contour of the bicycle valve is basically chosen such that the valve can be pushed through the rim hole as a completely assembled unit. As a result, automation of the initial assembly of bicycles, which hitherto was not possible, is made possible. By using two valve members in a valve insert which can be adjusted in a sealing manner in the valve body, three seals are produced, thus making it more difficult for air to escape. Furthermore, a bayonet-like connection is provided between valve body and rim, which connection benefits the durability of the inner tube. The satisfactory fixing of the valve relative to the rim prevents the additional stresses on the inner tube which previously had to be accepted, which when attaching the valve resulted in permanent deformation of the inner tube and also when pumping up the tyre could cause damage in the region of the connection of the valve body to the inner tube.
