A recess (24) having a front boundary surface (25), a rear boundary surface (27) and a supporting surface (30) which connects the two boundary surfaces to one another and is close to the axis are provided in the circumferential region (10) of a projectile arrangement for a smooth-barrelled weapon. The track of the supporting surface (30) is inclined with respect to a projectile longitudinal axis (which can be assumed to be horizontal) in the firing direction, in accordance with the arrow (S). An element (36), which is designed as a strip, in the essentially trapezoidal cross-section is located, in the original state shown, with a front surface (43) tightly against the front boundary surface (25) of the recess (24) and is held there by a transportation securing device (62) which is preferably elastomeric and is in the form of a round cord. It is preferably produced from a material having a comparatively high density. During the firing acceleration of the projectile arrangement in the direction of the arrow (S), the large mass inertia of the element (36) in the direction of the arrow (B) results in a relative movement with respect to the supporting surface (30) close to the axis, the supporting surface (50) which is remote from the axis and is arranged on the outside of the element (36) being displaced (see dashed illustration in Figure 2) in the direction of the arrow (R) against the inner surface (72) of the smooth barrel, being matched to any unevennesses in the inner surface (72), and thus guiding the projectile arrangement while preventing disturbing oscillations transversely with respect to the core axis of the smooth barrel. <IMAGE>
