PURPOSE:To obtain superior oxygen permeability and good machinability, by using a copolymer of a monomer derived from styrene and bisphenol-A-dimethacrylate. CONSTITUTION:A proposed contact lens is obtained by machining and polishing a molded product made of a copolymer of a cross-linking agent of bisphenol-A- dimethacrylate and a monomer represented by the general formulaIin which R1 is H, CH3, and R2 is H, CH3, C2H5, C3H7, C4H9, OCH3, Cl, NO2, OH, or NH2. A suitable amount of said monomer to be used is 60-95wt%, and that of bisphenol-A-methacrylate to be used is 5-40wt%. |
