<p>A releasable locking device, for securing a parked vehicle (B) to an adjacent upright structure (P), includes a first means (11,14) mounted on the upright structure (W) and a second means (23, 24) mounted on the first means (11, 14) for vertical movement relative thereto between operative and inoperative mode positions (I, II). When in an operative mode (I), the second means (23, 24) is in a raised position and engages a portion (B) of the parked vehicle. A third means (31 b, 22) releasably retains the second means (23, 24) in operative mode (I) and prevents accidental movement of the second means (23, 24) from operative mode (I) position to a lower inoperative mode position (II). The first means includes guides (14) for restricting movement of the second means (23, 24) to a substantially vertical path.</p> |
