PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an explosion-proof structure of a square battery, which rapidly reacts to deformation by compression force from the outside, and which releases an inner pressure of a can and a compressed deformation simultaneously at the time of compression fracture of the square battery. SOLUTION: In the explosion-proof structure of the square battery, a groove A is formed along a central line S in a longitudinal direction on the external surface of a can bottom of the square battery, and a groove B is formed which intersects the groove A in the innerside than both ends of the groove A and which forms a symmetry against the central line S so as to make the angle of apertureθ120 deg. to 160 deg. toward a narrow side of the can bottom. |
