PURPOSE:To make it possible to use exhaust heat to the full by extending the staying time of supply and discharge waters in a heat exchange tank by a method wherein the heat exchange tank is divided into a number of heat transfer tanks by means of heat transfer partition plates and the heat transfer tanks thus provided are made to communicate with one another in an alternative fashion so that the supply and discharge waters flow through their respective heat transfer tanks in opposite directions. CONSTITUTION:The high temperature discharge water enters the heat transfer tank 31 from an inlet 6 and the heat transfer tank 33 via an inlet pipe 3b and is discharged from an outlet 7 through a pipe 3d, the heat transfer tank 35, a pipe 3f, the heat transfer tank 37 and a pipe 3h. On the other hand, the supply water enters the heat transfer tank 38 from an inlet 4 and is discharged from an outlet 5 through a pipe 2g, the heat transfer tank 36, a pipe 2e, the heat transfer tank 34, a pipe 2c, the heat transfer tank 32 and a pipe 2a. Accordingly, the hot discharge water and the supply water flow gradually through their respective heat transfer tanks as they stagnate in the tanks and exchange heat with each other through the heat transfer partition plates 21-27. Thus, with the above structure, it is possible to use the exhaust heat to the full because the sectional areas of heat transfer of the heat transfer partition plates 21-27 are enlarged sufficiently and the staying time of the supply and discharge waters in the heat transfer tanks is extended to a sufficient degree. Further, the heat transfer tanks can be cleaned quite easily through inspecting and cleaning ports 71-78 provided in the tanks, respectively. |
