<p>An electric cooker comprises a fitting plate having an opening surrounded by an upwardly projecting rim, a cooker plate received in the opening and having a cooking surface on which a cooking vessel can stand, and a sheet metal ring surrounding the cooker plate and extending outwardly therefrom. The ring has an internal section which is detachably mounted to the cooker plate and an external section which extends generally downwardly and beyond the rim to terminate adjacent the fitting plate. The sheet metal ring is so shaped and arranged to provide a smooth transition from the cooking surface to the fitting plate. The electric cooker of the invention allows relatively flat cooking vessels to be shifted more easily on the stove while preventing issuing liquids from penetrating through the stove surface.</p> |
