PURPOSE:To repeatedly utilize slag as a latent arc welding flux, by crushing latent arc welding slag, adjusting its grain size, and adding a proper quantity of a flux whose component has been adjusted, to said slag. CONSTITUTION:Slag which has been produced by latent arc welding is crushed and its grain size is adjusted. To this slag, a new flux or a flux prepared by adjusting its components as to fine powder produced when the slag has been crushed, so as to be within the same component as said flux is added by 10- 20%. According to this method, the content of FeO, SiO2, etc. is recovered, and the slag can be utilized again as a latent arc welding flux. This reproduced flux is capable of performing satisfactory welding which does not cause a defect such as a blow-hole, etc. in the same way as a new flux. |
