PURPOSE:To reduce a time required for research of a designated disc, by providing a home position of a disc playing means at a location opposing to the intermediate section in a disc arranging direction of a disc container. CONSTITUTION:A disc playing means 14 clamps a disc 2 loaded to a playing position with a disc carrying means 15 into a state possible for playing by means of a clamp means. A driving means rotating and driving a clamped disc 2 and a pickup for picking up the information of the disc 2 are provided and a position opposing to the intermediate part toward the disc arranging direction of a disc container 10 is taken as the home position. At disc playing, the disc is moved left or right in the appended figure in accordance with the contained position of a disc and playing is made after the end of loading of the designated disc 2 with a disc carrying means 15. |
