PURPOSE:To integrate the number of horizontal picture elements by providing a horizontal output register which has bits a half as many as vertical registers, and aligning interlaced readout signals with a signal processing device consisting of variable delay lines. CONSTITUTION:A solid-state image pickup element consists of a photodetection part 2 for obtaining a charge pattern which corresponds to the amount of photodetection, a storage part 3 where the charge pattern from the photodetection part 2 is stored temporarily, and a horizontal output register 4 of CCD constitution which outputs signals from the storage part 3 successively. The horizontal output register 4 has bits a half as many as the vertical registers of the storage part 3, and the output signal of every other vertical register is read out by every horizontal scan. The signals read out of the horizontal output registers 4 are applied successively to variable delay lines DL1-DL4 on every scan and are arrayed correctly by a multiplexer 11, and outputted. |
