A method for producing a beryllium-copper containing at least Be and Cu, which comprises a solid solution forming step of holding a beryllium-copper in a solid solution forming temperature region wherein Be forms a solid solution with Cu, over a prescribed solid solution state holding time, and then cooling the beryllium-copper at a cooling rate which allows the retention of the state wherein Be forms a solid solution with Cu, a working step of applying a plastic strain to the beryllium-copper cooled in the solid solution forming step in plural installments in a working temperature range wherein Be forms no precipitate, and an age hardening step of holding the beryllium-copper having been subjected in the working step to the application of a plastic stress in a precipitation temperature region wherein Be forms a precipitate, over a prescribed age hardening time.
