A portable device is provided to convert a mode into a call mode by operating a key only once when a call is received in DMB mode or a game mode in which a display is horizontally placed, so that a user can directly talk over the phone with the other party. A portable device comprises the followings: a first housing(10); a second housing(20) which opens/closes a predetermined area of the first housing(10) by sliding or swing on the first housing(10); first receivers(210,211) placed in an upper area or a lower area of an upper surface(20a) of the second housing(20); and a second receiver(213) placed in an intermediate area of the upper surface(20a) of the second housing(20). When a call is received during usage of a first mode using the first receivers(210,211), a mode is converted into a second mode with only one operation and accordingly the second receiver is used.
