The method involves removing material from a surface of a glass slate (D) or glass panel, to form projecting truncated cones (300) on the surface. The material is removed by sandblasting operation involving projecting a stream of abrasive materials on the surface. A stencil is placed on the glass slate before the sandblasting operation in order to form a barrier for the abrasive projection and to create the cones. An independent claim is also included for a glass slate.
