An apparatus and a method for starting/stopping plural motors are provided to softly start and stop the motors by further installing a start power unit and a start contactor. A start power unit has adjustable speed control parts(110,110') installed between a 3-phase power source and a motor for controlling revolutions of the motor by changing a voltage and a frequency, soft start/stop parts(120,120') installed between n apparatus include a start power unit, a start contacting unit installed between the 3-phase power source and the motor for gradually increasing or decreasing a power to be supplied to the motor, a first mode selecting contactor activated by a control signal of the adjustable speed control part, and a second mode selecting contactor actuated by a control signal of the soft start/stop part. A start contactor is activated when the motor is driven. A condenser contactor is activated to improve a power factor of the motor. |
