<p>Waterproof boots or shoes are made by moulding the soles, the backstrip and the upper vamp in one piece over a premoulded insole. A comfortable lining and an external textile cover for the upper are subsequently placed and stuck into position. The boot body is pref. made of a suitable rubber or plastic (PVC) compsn. by slush moulding. The internal lining may be of a flexible cellular material secured, after being pressed into position, by a suitable adhesive, e.g. a PVC or rubber based emulsion. Used esp. for mfr. for boots for winter use, to avoid the use of stitched seams which destroy the integrity of conventionally cut and assembled footwear.</p> |
