The invention relates to a solid-fuel burner for industrial furnaces having a flame-space muffle. It is intended to improve the muffle overheating which, in the combustion of solid fuels, is necessary in order to improve the burn-out (flame formation, flame colour), whilst lost times for muffle preheating and the dependence of the latter on the ignition flame or on a separate preheating flame are to be avoided. It achieves this in that the flame-space muffle is equipped with an electrical resistance heater cast around the muffle body on the outside.
