PURPOSE:To enable stable use of an ink roller for a heat transfer type printer for a long time by forming porous roller unit of sintered metal and impregnating heat sensitive ink into the roller unit, thereby lengthening the lifetime of the roller. CONSTITUTION:A recording sheet 4 is inserted between an ink roller 1 and a thermal printing head 3, which is contacted via the sheet 4 with the roller 1 undder the prescribed pressure. The roller 1 is formed of sintered metal, and heat sensitive ink containing wax and additives with dye and paint is forcibly impregnated in the fine pinholes of the roller. The roller 1 preheated by a preheater 2 is further heated locally at a high temperature by the head 3, and is adhered to the sheet, thereby printing a desired character. |
