PURPOSE:To correctly assemble a carcass layer around a bead core by setting the bead core in place with an elastic deformation of a carcass ply radially inwards over the entire thereof as formed cylindrical in such a manner that the deformation is released later. CONSTITUTION:With each segment of a plyformer being expanded (a), carcass plies and the like are wound to form a cylindrical carcass ply 10. The external circumference of the carcass ply is equal in the length to the internal circumference of a bead core. Successively, the carcass ply 10 undergoes an elastic deformation radially inwards over the entire surface thereof by reducing the segments of the plyformer as shown by (b). A bead core 11 previously prepared in a bead holder is set at a specified position outside the carcass ply 10 as shown by (b)-(d) and afterwards, with each segment of the plyformer expanded again, the elastic deformation of the carcass ply 10 is released. As shown by (e), the carcass ply 10 is strongly press welded on the inner surface of the bead core 11. |
