A space-retainer for reinforcing units in concrete construction is made of plastics, with a wedge-shaped side perpendicular to the form surface. An opening in front of the wide end accommodates a reinforcing bar, and there are hollows between the side faces. The perpendicular side faces converge with an acute angle from the blunt wedge end (13) to the pointed wedge end. In the end areas, they cross over into each other monolithically.
