Articulated vehicle with a device for damping or blocking articulation between vehicle components which are connected in an articulated fashion, which device comprises a double-acting hydraulic cylinder which is arranged transversely with respect to the longitudinal direction of the vehicle and whose piston is supported on one vehicle component and whose cylinder is supported on the other vehicle component, the displaceability of piston and cylinder in relation to each other being controllable by at least one hydraulic valve which is located in a connection line between the two cylinder spaces and the damping or blocking forces being transmitted between the vehicle components by means of traction cables which are wound up and unwound on a circumferential face of a segment.
