The invention relates to a seat, in particular for vehicles of all types, which is arranged individually or in pairs in a row and comprises a seat frame, the actual seat and an optionally adjustable backrest. In order to be able to accommodate items of practical use conveniently and within easy reach of the seat user, it is regarded as expedient for there to be provided, under the respective seat (1), a trough-like storage compartment (15) which is suspended in such a manner on parallelogram-like links (11, 12), acting on the seat frame (4), that it can be pivoted from an upper position into a low position (cf. 16) which is offset downwards to the rear. <IMAGE>
