If, in the illustrated contact and clamped-together position of the liner (1) and the plate (7), a resistance welding current is made to flow between the corresponding electrodes, the specific intensity at the contact points between the surface line (2) and the blades (3) reaches a very high value which momentarily causes melting of the contact zones and ionisation of the air. As a result, any contaminants which may be present in the vicinity of the melting zones are flushed away. This results in a kind of arc welding or percussion welding, which ensures that resistance welding is initiated. As the process continues, the contact zones become continuously larger and the specific intensity of the current is reduced in such a way that the final phase can be considered to be spot welding or butt welding. The high degree of reliability and strength of the welding finally produced in this manner makes it possible to use the hinge part produced in this manner for mounting motor vehicle doors. <IMAGE>
