In the case of a vehicle, preferably a commercial vehicle, a device which acts aerodynamically for reducing the flow resistance is provided in the form of an air bag which automatically inflates while travelling. The air bag, which can be attached to the rear of the commercial vehicle and is preferably composed of a plastic tarpaulin material has an air inlet, attached to the roof of the commercial vehicle, for the inflow of the air and a plurality of outlet openings, through which the air leaves the air bag. Air nozzles which act tangentially can also be provided on the circumference of the air bag. The air bag can also be used between a towing vehicle and a trailer in order to reduce the flow and turbulence losses which occur in the gap between the towing vehicle and trailer. <IMAGE>
