(Benzo[de]isoquinolin-2-yl)guanidines, process for their preparation, and their use as medicaments

Novel (benzo[de]isoquinolin-2-yl)guanidines of the general formula I <IMAGE> in which R<1> and R<2>, which can be identical or different, denote a hydrogen or halogen atom or an alkoxy group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or R<1> and R<2> together denote an ethylene group, and R<3>, R<4> and R<5>, which can be identical or different, denote a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and their acid addition salts have a sympathicomimetic action and give rise to a long-lasting blood pressure increase. They can be used as medicaments for controlling hypotensive conditions.
