PURPOSE:To bury earth and sand again as it is compacted efficiently, by a method wherein tremie pipes are mounted to hoppers with water feed pipe at both sides at a rear part of a pipe installing device, and after a culvert is installed, a gap between the culvert and a bedrock is filled as water is added to earth and sand in the hopper. CONSTITUTION:A bedrock is excavated by one full block of a culvert A by means of an excavator B, and the culvert A is hung down in a tail part of a culvert installing device 1. The culvert A is pressed against an existing culvert side by a thrust jack 12, and simultaneously, the culvert installing device 1 is moved forward. Water is then jetted through a water feed pipe to provide earth and sand in the hopper 5 with appropriate fluidity, and a gap between the bedrock and the side wall of the culvert A is filled with the earth and sand through tremie pipes 6 and 7 at the lower ends of the hoppers 5. This permits the gap to be filled with earth and sand as it is gradually and reliably compacted with the forward movement of the culvert. |
