PURPOSE:To reduce the frictional resistance during the lost motion, in a hydraulic cylinder for cab over type car, by slightly increasing the diameter of the portion of the cylinder requiring the lost motion than the other portion. CONSTITUTION:A hydraulic cylinder 8 for a cab tilt is comprised of the inner and outer cylinders 8b, 8c where a lost chamber 8d is formed at the portion requiring the lost motion and conducted through the holes 15, 16 to the inside cylinder 8b. The diameter D1 of a portion P1 (Length L) of the inside cylinder 8b is made slightly longer than the diameter D of the other portion P. The increment DELTAD of said diameter D1 is made such that the slipper seal 17 and the oil seal 18 at the outercircumference 14a of the piston will not be removed from the piston 14 while slide more softly than other portion against the innercircumference S of the inside cylinder 8b. |
