Most conventional filter coffee makers have a separate hot-plate element which maintains the temp. of the filtered coffee. The present hot-plate element (11) and pumping element are mounted in a common heat-conducting casting (3) under the jug. This combination of elements helps to maintain the coffee at a constant temp., whereas the usually separate hot-plate and thermostat allows the temp. to fluctuate. The hot-plate element is not controlled by a thermostat, but has a variable resistance, which the user can adjust to produce a max. heating power of 50W. The pump element is switched out of circuit by a thermostat when the housing becomes too hot.
