To prevent a vacuum cleaner being used by oversight without a dust bag (18) in it, the cleaner is provided with a disc (21) which is connected to the attachment plate (17) of the dust bag before the bag is inserted in the cleaner, and disc (21) acts as a locking device for attachment and locking of a suction hose which extends through opening (15). The disc (21) is non-rotatably secured to plate (17) by pin (22) and has a flange (24) locating in a central hole in the plate. In the absence of the bag and its plate (17), the disc (21) cannot be maintained in alignment with opening (15), and the hose cannot be connected. <IMAGE> |
