<p>This cheque verification device ensures that the cheque and cheque card are issued to the same customer and that the customer requiring a cash pay-out has typed in his confidential personal number. The customer inserts the cheque into a slot (4) and the cheque card into another slot (3). The device (1) ensures that the account numbers on the two items are identical, and a yellow lamp (5) lights. The customer then enters his personal number on a separate keyboard. If the number is correct, a verification mark is stamped on the cheque which can be presented for payment, and a green lamp (6) lights. If the number is incorrect, a red lamp (7) lights, the card is retained and an alarm is sounded.</p> |
