<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound important in organosilicon industry, by reacting dimethylsilane with hydrogen chloride in the presence of a specific metallic catalyst at high temperature in a gaseous phase. CONSTITUTION:Dimethylsilane is reacted with hydrogen chloride in the presence of a catalyst at 50-400 deg.C in a gaseous phase, to give dimethylmonochlorosilane. On or more catalysts selected from copper, nickel, platinum, palladium, copper oxide, alumina, and nickel oxide are used as the catalyst. The catalyst may be supported on a carrier such as asbestos, active carbon, etc. The reaction proceeds by bringing a mixed gas of dimethysilane and hydrogen chloride into contact with the catalyst heated at 50-400 deg.C for 5-1,000sec. The prepared dimethylmonochlorosilane is useful as a raw material for providing various kinds of organopolysiloxanes with reactivity.</p> |
