PURPOSE:To eliminate the damage of an insulator of a hexagonal insulating coil by enclosing a flat type conductor along a lengthwise direction with an insulating tape when a pig type coil is formed of the flat type conductor, winding the conductor while retaining the cinductor with a retaining member to form a turning insulator, thereby mechanizing a turning insulator forming work. CONSTITUTION:When a flat type conductor 4 is wound in a plurality of turns on a bobbin 8 to form a pig type coil, the conductors 4 are enclosed along its lengthwise direction with an insulating tape 5. The conductors are then retained by a retaining member 9 made of yarns or strings, are turned and insulated, and are further wound on th bobbin 8. The pig type coil thus formed is eventually formed in a hexagonal shape. In this manner, the formation of the turning insulator can be automated and the quality of the product can be made uniform. Further, since no adhesive is used, no damage occurs at the turning insulator even when the conductor is formed in a hexagonal shape. |
