PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound industrially inexpensively, efficiently, continuously, and in high yield, by reacting dimethylsilane with dimethyldichlorosilane in the presence of aluminum chloride catalyst at a specific temperature under normal pressure in a gas-liquid phase. CONSTITUTION:Dimethyldichlorosilane is fed from the liquid tank 2 to the reaction tank 1. AlCl3 is fed from the catalyst tank 5 to it, the stirring is carried out, the reaction tank is heated by warm water at 36-70 deg.C. When the temperature in the reaction tank becomes constant, dimethylsilane gas is introduced from the dimethylsilane tank 8 through the bottom of the reaction tank, and a gas-liquid reaction is carried out in the tank. The liquid level of the reaction solution in the reaction tank is kept constant by dimethyldichlorosilane fed continuously from the tank 3 for absorbing the unreacted gas. The gas after the reaction is cooled by the water cooling condenser 11, and formed dimethylmonochlorosilane is stored in the tank 12. The amount of the catalyst, AlCl3, is preferably 0.1-10wt% based on the amount of the reaction solution, and the amount of dimethylsilane introduced is preferably <=60g/l/hr based on dimethyldichlorosilane existing as the liquid phase. |
