<p>The vee pulley has a fixed flange (1) extended to form a hub on which slides a moving flange (2). A freely rotating ring (3) is fitted in the root of the pulley to disengage the drive in the fully open position. The sliding flange has a housing for the steel ball counterweights. The counterweights (9) are enclosed by an end cap (4) which has a curvature to suit the desired characteristics of the drive. The springs (8) maintain the flanges apart against the centrifugal force of the counterweights. The drive is transmitted through the end ring (5), pins (7) and dowels (16).</p> |
