<p>An insulating compsn. for electrical wires and cables comprises 70-90 wt.% of a polyamide 6/10 and 10-30 wt.% of phosphate flameproofing agent having plasticising props. Pref. the phosphate is pref. tricresyl phosphate. The compsn. contains 80% polyamide and 20% phosphate. The compsn. has high flash pt. (pref. more than 350 deg.c) high oxygen index (more than 27), does not emit corrosive gases (cf. PVC); does not cause flame propagation; and satisfies flammability tests according to UL94.</p> |
