A fuel injection nozzle for the delivery of fuel to an internal combustion engine is so designed that it has an outlet opening, from which a first jet of fuel emerges with a low penetration capability, and has a further outlet opening or openings, from which a second jet or jets of fuel emerge with increased penetration capability. During operation the first jet is directed into an area of the combustion chamber where the air is relatively calm, and the second jet or jets are directed into an area or areas of the combustion chambers where the air is in a turbulent state.
