PURPOSE:To obtain a PCM encoder/decoder which can cope with various TV systems, by controlling the selection of clocks and the changeover of a TV signal format generating circuit and a decoder circuit in accordance with a TV system switching signal. CONSTITUTION:A selector circuit 5 is controlled with a TV system switching circuit applied from a terminal 8, a clock generating circuit 3 or 4 is selected in accordance with the selected TV system, and PCM recording and reproduction circuits 1 and 2 are controlled with the production of TV signal format in accordance with the system and decoding clock. With the TV system switching signal, the switching for horizontal system and vertical system time set gate groups 13 and 16 of a circuit 6, a vertical synchronizing system counter 15 and a vertical synchronizing system decoder 19 of a circuit 7 is controlled. Thus, without complicating the constitution, a PCM encoder/ decoder such as a digital audio processor using video tapes which can commonly cope with various TV systems such as the NTSC, PAL and SECAM systems can be obtained. |
