PURPOSE:To prevent aging intensification of a latent image or subimage formed at exposure, by using both of a specified compound and an antioxidant in addition to a cyanine dye. CONSTITUTION:At least one kind of compounds represented by the general formulaeI, II, and III (in which Z is 1-18C alkyl, 6-18C aryl, or heterocyclic; Y is an atomic group necessary to form a 6-18C aromatic or hetero ring; M is a metallic atom or organic cation; and n is 2-10) and an antiozidant, such as polyhydroxybenzene are added to a silver halide photographic emulsion spectrally sensitized by a specified cyanine dye having a carboxyl or sulfo group as an N-substituent and a substituted alkyl group, thus permitting aging change to be prevented without impairing sensitivity. |
