PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration in image quality while preventing the remaining of struck toner and other solid-state foregion matter due to the incomplete operation of a scraping blade, by pressing an elastic roll which has a function of polishing against the surface of a photoreceptor, and the polishing away foregin matter on its surface. CONSTITUTION:A developing device 2 transfers a toner image, formed on the surface of a photoreceptor D, onto copying paper P which moves as shown by an arrow in the figure. The surface of the photoreceptor after the transfer is cleaned by a cleaning part 1. The cleaning part 1 is equipped with a cleaning blade 13, and a sponge-like elastic rubber roller or low-hardness rubber roller 11. This elastic roller 11 is impregnated or stuck with an abrasive compound such as cerium oxide, ferric oxide, zinc stearate, and alumina on its surface. |
