Derivs. (I) of non-immunogenic human plasminogen activator (II), esp. urokinase, comprise a polyalkylene glycol (III) linked to amino acid side chains of (II) via a coupling agent (IV), where (III) has a molecular wt. of 200-20,000 (pref. 500-10,000) and opt. contains one or more alkyl and/or alkanoyl substituents. (I) are useful as thrombolytic agents. They have better stability and a longer half-life in the blood than unmodified (II). - |
