Homing head for missiles

A homing head for missiles is provided with a CO2 laser, the transmitted beam of which is alternately polarised in different directions. Using a receiver responding to both directions of polarisation, the signals reflected from the target can be distinguished from the reflected signals of the background. <IMAGE>
