PURPOSE:To obtain the titled interferon having the antitumor activity easily, by reacting a virus with a human thymic lymphoblastic cell. CONSTITUTION:A human thymic lymphoblastic cell, e.g. RPMI8402, HPB-ALL or JM, is cultivated in the presence of a virus, e.g. Sendai virus or New castle disease virus, by the suspension culture method to produce the aimed beta-interferon. After a given time, the liquid phase part (supernatant liquid) of the cellular culture fluid is recovered, and the virus is inactivated by the irradiation with ultraviolet light, acidification and/or neutralization, etc. and then purified by the separation or concentration to afford the beta-interferon. The method is an improved industrial method for preparing the interferon in a large quantity. |
