PURPOSE:To prepare a high performance granular molecular sieve carbon material, by compounding non-caking coal powder or coal char powder with an organic binder capable of forming strong coke by carbonization and an adhesive organic granulating agent, and granulating and carbonizing the mixture. CONSTITUTION:Non-caking coal or coal char is crushed to the size finer than 100mesh, and mixed with 2.0-20wt% binder such as caking coal, coal tar pitch etc. and 10-20% blackstrap molasses, sulfite pulp waste liquid, etc. The mixture is mixed with a small mount of water, stirred, and granulated with a granulator to a specific aize range (1-2mm.phi in diameter and 5-8mm. in length). The granules are dried and carbonized at 500-800 deg.C. A granular molecular sieve carbon material having excellent adsorption property can be obtained at a low cost by this process. |
